Levels

Our levels work like a matrix:

• 1. dimension: how strong are you as a dancer in your stronger role, and
• 2. dimension: how experienced are you in switching or the other role?

 

	New to somewhat experienced in the other role	Comfortable in the other role
int.–int-adv. in your stronger role	Sprouting Switchee🌱 Int or int-adv in your primary/main role and less experienced in the other role (e.g. beg-int)	Leaping Leaf 🍂 At least intermediate in both roles
adv.–adv.+ in your stronger role	Enchanting Expressionist 🔮 Adv.-adv.+ in your primary/main role and less experienced in the other role (e.g. int)	Grooving Guardian 🌒 At least advanced in both roles

 

Sprouting Switchee🌱You've only just started switching in lindy hop. In your stronger role, you would classify yourself as an intermediate to advanced dancer.

Leaping Leaf 🍂You see yourself as a lead as well as a follow and are happy to dance in either role at a social. Being switched from one role into the other doesn't stress you out anymore, but you might find yourself running out of ideas, moves and ways to express yourself after a while.

Enchanting Expressionist 🔮 You are a very advanced dancer in your preferred role but don't have a lot of experience in the other one. You are looking to learn to be more secure, express yourself and connect with your partner better in the new role.

Groove Guardian 🌒 You consider yourself an experienced lead as well as follow. You can connect with your partner, the music and yourself in any role, in different styles and to any tempo. You are looking for some further inspiration and are happy to share your own ideas with others in this class.

Parties

What’s a festival without parties? On Friday and Saturday nights we’ll be dancing the night away with the great Hop Sh’bam and formidable DJs.

You can come as you are but we invite you to dress up — think magic, think forest-core, think Art Nouveau — think season of the (s)witch!

Apart from the dancing, there will be other activities for the mingling and tingling.

Competitions

  

We love spontaneity — that's why our competitions are tap-in only and there are no prelims!

So when competition time comes, why not just stay on the dance floor and who knows, you might get a tap on the shoulder.
